Aleksandr Golovin grew up in a small town in Russia called Kaltan. He started at a local football school before moving to bigger academies. At first, he was not a superstar name. He built his career step by step.
Golovin shined at youth international tournaments and then for CSKA Moscow. His good performances earned him a place in the Russian national team. At the 2018 World Cup, he impressed the world with his energy, free-kicks, and creativity.
After that, he moved to play in one of Europe’s top leagues, showing that a boy from a small Russian town could stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best players in the world.
Lessons for our players:
Your hometown or background does not limit your dreams.
Use every opportunity—youth tournaments, training, matches—to show your ability.
Stay brave when moving to a higher level; you belong on the pitch.
